Lausanne, Switzerland, February 19, 2010 - The Japanese Volleyball Association (JVA) has joined the FIVB, the NORCECA and Europe (CEV) Confederations in supporting the ongoing aid relief to those affected by the Haiti earthquake, which happened in January.
The JVA made a donation of $30,000 to the special fund created by the NORCECA Confederation to help the rebuilding process in Haiti and the announcement, which adds to the aid already sent by the FIVB, NORCECA and CEV, is a further indication of the solidarity in the Volleyball family following this tragic event.

ATLANTA, February 01, 2010 - The Georgia State volleyball team spent Thursday afternoon helping to raise money and awareness to go to the victims of the earthquake in Haiti earlier this week. In just over 90 minutes, the team raised $963 on the campus library plaza.
Support from around the world is heading into the nation with every little bit being needed as quickly as possible.
"I was overwhelmed by the amount of giving there was on campus today," commented assistant coach Ada Bazin. "I wasn't sure what to expect when we started collecting donations. Students were stopping and digging in their wallets and pockets for anything they could give. One gentleman slipped a $100 bill in the bucket without wanting any praise.
